about 45. Cousin Electa was a niece of Emily Redfield
(Guiteau, Barnes) (1813-1903), and Emma's first cousin once removed. Emma's mother, Emma Julia Guiteau (Tinsley) (1838-1882), died when Emma
was two years old. Emma went to live with Cousin Electa until she was about eight, around
1888, after her father William T. Tinsley (1833-1893) was
married (in 1885) to Hannah Rogers (Taft, Tinsley)
(1844-1932).
