GENDEX database dwmerrill9 contains the ancestors and descendants of Walter Howard Beckett (1880-1966). He was the father of Laura Geneva Beckett, the adoptive mother of my wife Anna Christine Morben. dwmerrill9 includes many Becketts and Lanhams in Prince George's county, Maryland. The family of Laura's mother Sarah Sewell Hall Beckett (1880-1952) are in GENDEX database hall.
Note: Database dwmerrill9 is a current version of database dwmerrill15, which was last updated on 9/8/97. Both databases should be consulted. Not all information appears in either one. Where discrepancies are noted, the data in dwmerrill9 should be used.
This database contains many persons whose relationships to other persons are unknown. Many of the birthdates are merely estimates, as indicated in the source notes.
The file dennie:\\d:\ftw\dwmerrill9\beckett.ged of 4/11/99 (367 names) was exported by Family TreeMaker 4.4 in FTM GEDCOM 5.5 format. With the use of GEDCLEAN, information was censored for living persons, except for name, gender, and relationship. A person was assumed dead if born before 1899.
GED2HTML v3.0b cannot properly handle the GEDCOM output of FTW version 4. To avoid this problem, the GEDCOM file was pre-processed with scripts fixftm40.csh and fixftm40.ed. Then, in crocker.com, a Linux 2.0.0 (Posix) system, the GEDCOM file was converted to HTML with GED2HTML 3.0b (Linux ELF version of 5/28/97). Custom files options3.g2h and custom3.g2h were used to include the birth and death dates of parents, spouses, and children.
Database dwmerrill9 was submitted to Gene Stark's GENDEX and to Chris Perry's GENMATCH.
