database dwmerrill15 contains the ancestors and descendants of Walter
Howard Beckett (1880-1966). He was the father of Laura Geneva Beckett, the adoptive
mother of my wife Anna Christine Morben. dwmerrill15 includes many
Becketts and Lanhams in Prince George's county, Maryland. The family of
Laura's mother Sarah Sewell Hall Beckett (1880-1952) are in GENDEX database hall.
Database dwmerrill15, last updated 9/8/97, is a
preliminary version of the database dwmerrill9, which
is currently maintained.
Note: Both
dwmerrill15 and dwmerrill9 should be consulted. Not all
information appears in either one. Where discrepancies are noted, the data in dwmerrill9 should be used.
This database contains many persons whose relationships to other persons are unknown.
Many of the birthdates are merely estimates, as indicated in the source notes.
The file beckett.ged of 9/13/97 (420 names) was exported by Genealogical
Information Manager (GIM) version 3.15 in (U)niversal GEDCOM format. It was
imported into Family TreeMaker 4.0, and a few minor changes made on 2/10/99. With the use
of GEDCLEAN, information was censored
for living persons, except for name, gender, and relationship. A person was assumed
dead if born before 1899. Slashes around surnames were removed. In merrill.olm.net,
the resulting file fixslash.ged was converted to HTML with GED2HTML 3.0b (Linux ELF
version of 5/28/97). Custom files options3.g2h and custom3.g2h were used to
include the birth and death dates of parents, spouses, and children.
Database dwmerrill15 was submitted to Gene Stark's GENDEX and to Chris Perry's GENMATCH.
