c. John Alden (d.1687) and Priscilla Mullins (1600-1685) were Pilgrims on the Mayflower which landed at Plymouth, Masschusetts in 1620. The events leading to their marriage were described in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's "The Courtship of Miles Standish" (1858).
d. Washington Alden was born in Newburg, Maine in 1815. He came to Canada, to New Brunswick and then to the town of Hampton.  He married his third wife, Catherine Markley, in 1880 at the age of 65.  He established an Inn at Hampton, and to this day there are Aldens living on that property and in that area.
