Driving and Parking Directions

From points east and south:

From Boston, take Route 2 west to Greenfield, Massachusetts (about 2 hours).
From New York City, take I-91 north to Greenfield, Massachusetts, Exit 26 (about 4 hours).
From Bradley International Aiport (Hartford CT/Springfield MA), take I-91 north to Greenfield, Massachusetts, Exit 26 (about 1 hour).

In Greenfield there is a rotary at the intersection of Route 2 and I-91.  From the rotary, drive west on Route 2, in the direction of North Adams.  Continue 8 miles, to Shelburne Falls.  After a police barracks, turn left at the Sweetheart Restaurant.   You are on South Maple Street.  After 1/4 mile, follow the sign and turn left into Shelburne Falls. (You are on Bridge Street, but there is no sign.)  After 3 blocks, at the Bank of Western Massachusetts, turn right onto Mechanic Street.  Bear Haven is #22, the fourth house on the left, a large purple house with a front porch.

Parking directions:

Parking is not allowed on our side (the left side, or west side) of the street. Also, during winter months, overnight street parking is prohibited.  For guests, there are two spaces (side by side) in the yard to the left of our house, and one space in the driveway immediately to the right of the house. Please do not use the neighbor's space to the right of our driveway.

From points west:

From Albany or Williamstown or North Adams, take Route 2 east toward Boston.    Shelburne Falls is about 10 miles east of Charlemont, and 8 miles west of Greenfield.  There are three Shelburne Falls exits.  Take the second one (to the right), which is Mechanic Street.  Ignore signs for Route 2 or Route 112, and continue straight on Mechanic Street.  After passing a school on the left, you will cross Church Street, which has a stop sign.  About 200 yards further you will see Bear Haven (#22), a large purple house on the right with a front porch.

Parking directions:

Parking is not allowed on our side (the right side, or west side) of the street. Also, during winter months, overnight street parking is prohibited.  For guests, there is one space in the driveway immediately to the right of our house, and two spaces (side by side) in the yard to the left of the house.
