database dwmerrill12 includes the Merrills of Franklin County, Massachusetts (surnames Merrill, Howard, Coleman, Whitney, Barnard, etc).
This database reflects work in progress. Some of the links are conjectural and without proof. Some unrelated individuals are included. For details, see the Sources and Notes.
Most urgent: who is the father of Capt. Thaddeus Merrill b.abt.1777, who parented 13 children with his wife Achsah Severance? For reasons explained in the Notes, we guess Nathaniel Merrill b.1731/32, but proof is lacking.
The privatized file CLEAN.FTW of 8/7/02 (963 names) was exported by Family Tree Maker for Windows (FTW) version 8.0 in FTW GEDCOM version 5.5 format. No personal information is included for living persons.
GED2HTML v3.0b cannot properly handle the GEDCOM output of FTW v4.0. To avoid this problem, the GEDCOM file was pre-processed with scripts fixftm40.csh and fixftm40.ed.
In crocker.com, a Linux 2.0.0 (Posix) system, on 8/7/02, the GEDCOM file was converted to HTML with GED2HTML 3.0b (Linux ELF version of 5/28/97). Custom files options3.g2h and custom3.g2h were used to include the birth and death dates of parents, spouses, and children.
Database dwmerrill12 was submitted to Gene Stark's GENDEX and to Chris Perry's GENMATCH.
