database dwmerrill  includes my family (surnames Whitney, Merrill, Ray, Tinsley, Barnard, Goucher, Guiteau, etc). It is maintained by my brother Jonathan Alden Merrill (1945-) in Family Tree Maker for Windows (FTW) version 4.0 The file MERRILL.FTW of 8/23/97 (1624 names) was exported in FTW GEDCOM version 5.5 format.

With the use of a PERL program living.pl, information was censored for living persons; then by permission, with the use of scripts fixliving.csh and fixliving.ed, the information was restored for 16 of those persons.

GED2HTML v3.0b cannot properly handle the GEDCOM output of FTW v4.0. To avoid this problem, the GEDCOM file was pre-processed with scripts fixftm40.csh and fixftm40.ed.

In crocker.com, a Linux 2.0.0 (Posix) system, the GEDCOM file was converted to HTML with GED2HTML 3.0b (Linux ELF version of 5/28/97). Custom files options3.g2h and custom3.g2h were used to include the birth and death dates of parents, spouses, and children.

Files *.img and *.inc were used to link Web pages to GIF images.

Database dwmerrill was submitted to Gene Stark's GENDEX and to Chris Perry's GENMATCH.   It was also submitted to Tim Doyle's Online Genealogical Database Index (GENWEB), and to Kindred Konnections as database me000008.   An earlier version was submitted to Cliff Manis' GENSERV   as database mern6na, and to Family TreeMaker's World Family Tree as Volume 7, Pedigree #2875.
